Important Dates for Summer Term

  • May 1, 2016
    Term officially begins. Since this date does not necessarily coincide with the beginning of classes, students should contact their program for the specific date when courses start.
  • May 6, 2016
    Due date for summer term tuition (first installment).
  • May 13, 2016
    Grade submission deadline for winter term grades for continuing students.
  • May 31, 2016
    Last day to enrol in summer term graduate courses, declare an audit for a course, or drop a graduate course without it appearing on the transcript.
  • June 10, 2016
    Due date for second installment of summer term tuition for those paying in 2 installments.
  • June 14-22, 2016
    Spring Convocation
  • June 29, 2016
    Last day to provide proof of Permanent Resident status to have summer term tuition fees reduced to the domestic rate.
  • June 30, 2016
    Last day to withdraw from a graduate course beginning in the term without academic penalty.
  • July 20, 2016
    Final date for doctoral candidates to submit the thesis for examination to SGPS to complete the degree within the summer term.
  • July 26, 2016
    Recommended deadline to submit to SGPS requests for changes to fall term registration status, (e.g. part-time, leave of absence, intent to be eligible for TDO status) and to apply to graduate for the Autumn Convocation.
  • August 3, 2016
    Final date for masters candidates to submit the thesis for examination to SGPS to complete the degree within the summer term.
  • August 31, 2016
    Grade submission deadline for students wishing to graduate at the Autumn Convocation. 
    Deadline for doctoral and masters candidates to submit the thesis for examination to SGPS to be eligible for Thesis Defense Only status for the fall term. 
    Deadline for final submission of the thesis to complete the degree within the summer term and to graduate at the Autumn Convocation. 
    Term ends.
