The objective of the agreement between CONACYT and OCGS is to establish collaborative relationships related to the education of highly qualified Mexican students, and to foster actions that will lead to joint programs of academic excellence between CONACYT and the participating Ontario universities.
On behalf of the host university, the Graduate Program will:
Provide payment for the tuition differential between international and domestic charges.
Provide Laboratory space, library access, appropriate equipment and supplies to carry out the research project, on the same basis as is done for domestic students.
In consideration of the academic performance of the student and upon availability of funds of each of the participating Ontario universities, the possibility of offering additional support for the student’s living expenses will be explored. This additional support may take the form of a teaching or research assistantship.
CONACYT will cover:
The cost of domestic tuition fees, including ancillary fees.
Appropriate maintenance costs for the student (i.e. monthly living allowance).
The cost of the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP).
Ensure the student is registered and record the CONACYT agreement with the approved dates provided by CONACYT in the Student Center.
Report annually to CONACYT on the status and sources of income for these registered students.
The Host Graduate Program will:
Provide students with a support package that offsets the differential tuition between international and domestic charges.
Declare any funding, in addition to the CONACYT funding, the program provides for a student (i.e. GTA or RA). This must be declared as CONACYT may adjust the student’s scholarship as a result of the additional funding.
Invoice CONACYT each term for domestic tuition and ancillary fees for each of these students.
