Decisions regarding the structure, sources and annual amount of your graduate funding over the course of your program are made primarily at the Faculty and/or graduate program. The best contact for you regarding funding is always your Faculty and/or graduate program.

PhD Student Supplemental Funding for Unavoidable Timeline Extensions Due to COVID-19 Related Research Delays
Graduate programs across campus are working with PhD students to support adaptations to their dissertation plans and will be reviewing these plans through students’ annual reports (via Pathfinder). Programs will provide supplemental funding for a limited time (normally not exceeding one term) for students who meet specific eligibility criteria.

Graduate programs are the primary source of internal funding for many of our graduate students through the Western Graduate Research Scholarships (WGRS) program, and teaching and research assistantships.
