SGPS 9201: Developing Leader Character

Developing future leaders extends beyond business schools. Today’s most influential leaders are in fields such as medicine, literature, technology, and politics. In today's society, world leaders need to be global citizens whose education and leadership will “make a difference” and serve the public good. Leader character development can serve alongside the competencies gained during graduate studies. This course introduces practical research and tools developed at Ivey Business School in the Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership, and are focused on learning the language around character, assessing self, and developing leader character.

“I’ve realized that there are areas of my character that I should work on, and that doing so will not only be part of my graduate education and a line on my course transcript, but something that I can really take with me in my career” – Joanna Konopka, PhD’18 Biology & past course participant
