The first program of its kind in Canada, the AHCP MHSc program is a one-year (three terms) course-based master's program offering an opportunity to promote leaders in health sciences. It is delivered through online courses and includes a Capstone Experience that consists of a mentorship opportunity in the student’s field.

Use this helpful tool, although designed to reflect costs associated with in person programs, to estimate how much money you will need to pay for your tuition, fees, and other expenses for a 12-month (three term) academic year.

Admission Requirements

  • A minimum bachelor's degree from a recognized university and at least a (B) standing (or equivalent) over the final two years of the program
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Evidence of prior work experience in a related field may strengthen the application
  • Two references - Academic (if attended university within the last five years) and professional
  • Completion of supplemental questionnaire

English Language Proficiency

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of their proficiency in the use of the English language by a satisfactory achievement within the last two years in one of the following:

  • The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). iBT (internet-Based Test):
    • For tests taken before January 21, 2026, Western requires a minimum overall score of 86, with no individual section score below 20. Some programs may require a higher minimum and/or specific band scores. Western’s TOEFL ID is 0984.
    • For tests taken on or after January 21, 2026, Western requires a minimum overall score of 4.5, with no individual section score below 4. Some programs may require a higher minimum and/or specific band scores. Western’s TOEFL ID is 0984.
  • The International English Language Testing Service (IELTS Academic). The minimum acceptable score is 7.5 out of 9.
  • The Duolingo English Test.  The minimum acceptable score is 135.

Applicants who are required to present evidence of proficiency in English must make their own arrangements to complete one of the above tests or programs and to have the official results sent directly to SGPS by the testing agency.
